Is Wickes and B and Q flooring good?
Share
When it comes to transforming your living space, flooring plays a crucial role in setting the tone for your home. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one. But what about Wickes and B&Q flooring? Are they good options for your next home improvement project?
We have been supply our own trusted flooring from trade partners for over 13 years now, however we often get asked to install and fit flooring by building giants Wickes and B&Q.
These products are great for customers to access through their many stores around the UK, samples are readily available and access to the flooring and collecting/ delivering is very easy to get hold of. The price for their flooring is very reasonable and affordable to most homes.
Upon installing 1000's of floors and 100's of these products we have found that their products can, on occasion lack the quality and ease of installation that most floor layers like. We estimate that 2/10 times we install affordable or budget laminate and wood flooring from these big brands; we are often fighting to connect the headers and not have the ends of the fitting system break upon putting the floor together. Both the GoodHome and EuroHome collection are notorious amongst expert flooring installers for their poor manufacturing and overall finish. These products are more affordable and cost effective but other tried and tested flooring products like the Urban Collection have the backing of the flooring trade and have a great quality finish.
When you increase the cost per m2 of their products the quality does increase and the overall issues you may incur will decrease, some of their products such as GoodHome solid wood flooring will increase in price but its very important to be wary of the quality of the wood flooring you are purchasing. Solid and engineered wood flooring is machined to the size and shape it is presented as. So its very important to check boards are cut straight and connect well; boards can become bowed and cut incorrectly which will effect the quality of the overall finish.
It always helps to seek professional flooring advice if you are unsure of the features and defects you are looking for. Our experts are happy to help with any advice on flooring options needed and give honest opinions on different flooring brands. We offer our own extensive range of wood flooring that comes with a guarantee and is tried and tested by the experts.
The flooring provided by Wickes and B&Q goes under quality testing and comes with a guarantee for any issues the flooring may incur, its always good to be vigilant of any defects and overall flooring quality provided. And important to remember that flooring specific stores will have tougher tests for these products than a DIY builders store like Wickes and B&Q.
